Don’t buy a pink world travel bag

We purchased 2 world travel bags at a well known mail order company; they came in nine different colours so we bought a blue one and a pink one (easy to spot at the airport).

The blue one was good, but the pink one fell to bits in Australia, these are the emails to and from the company.

Who seemed to think I should have transported the very poor quality bag back 10,000 miles!

Dear Sir
We purchased 2 of your world travel cases on the 19th of February, for our first and probably last big trip. The blue one performed well, but the pink one disintegrated on the second leg of the journey (see attached pictures).I would have returned it but it's in a trash can in Canberra now, and we were forced to purchase another case to return to UK.

Dear Sam
Thank you for your email.
I am very sorry that your Pink World Travel Bag is faulty. Please return the faulty Bag using the cheapest method possible and obtain a Certificate of Posting as your proof of return. Please complete the Returns section on the back of the Invoice and enclose it with your Bag. As soon as your Bag is returned, a replacement will be sent to you as soon as possible. If you require any further information, please let us know as soon as possible.
Yours sincerely

Loraine

Dear Loraine

Thank you for your reply; do you actually bother to read the emails?

As I explained in the e-mail the bag is in a trash bin in Canberra on the other side of the world.

The cost of bringing the world travel bag back 10,000 miles would be more than the cost of buying a new one.

I just wondered how good your customer service was, now I know please remove me from your mailing list.

And I will publish the details and pictures of the bag on my blog (around 500-page views a week).

Dear Sam

Thank you for your email, sorry for the delay in replying
I am also very sorry for the previous error.
I confirm I have removed your details from our mailing system as requested although this may be too late to stop the latest catalogue from being sent

Kind regards
Sue Carr
