Sydney Wildlife World

Where did I put that baby!

Here it is.

New friend.

This young man explained the Didgeridoo.

But this visitor preferred to
do her own kangaroo impersonation.

Bath Recreation Ground

This is Bath Recreation ground but I don’t remember what the event was or the date.

I was before the Sports Centre was built, and well before TV prevented people from coming out in great numbers for a couple of bands in two small tents.

It would be good to think that with improvements that it could once again entertain as many people on more than one day a week!

Boots

Sometimes our hall looks almost like this,
but this is Warleigh Lodge Farm near Bath.
They do special visits for schools.

Bamboo scaffolding in Hong Kong

It seems strange for Westerners to see
bamboo scaffolding being used for
building work at extreme heights in Hong Kong.

Bangkok's Grand Palace

We had a tour of Bangkok's Grand Palace
and this is
the Holy of Holies within - the Jade Buddha
(also known as the Emerald Buddha) in Wat Phra Kaeo.
No cameras in this part of the temple.

The picture was taken from outside
through a door behind the gentleman
who is tapping a flower on his head
after dipping it in the water!

Raining inside a Qantas Jumbo at Hong Kong

The Qantas Boeing 747-400 Jumbo leaving Hong Kong had air conditioning problems, and soon after taking off the water started dripping on us.
We thought that something had broken in an overhead locker, but as the seat belt signs were on we just had to sit and be dripped on.
As soon as the seat belt lights went out there was much furious mopping by the stewardesses who said this happens when we leave Hong Kong, its pity they didn’t tell us and issue rain wear.
Seats 41H,I,J,K and the three rows in front seemed most affected!

Floating restaurant drier than a Qantas Jumbo!

Hong Kong Road Works

I think this looks a good idea!
This sign in Hong Kong appears to show they have a short trial run before starting road works!
But what happens if the trial run doesn’t work!

Bath Clockworks

Bath Clockworks at 39 Newbridge Road Bath is a shop run by a craftsman in the good old sense.
Clocks are repaired and restored, they are even collected and delivered whenever customers cannot manage, or when the clock needs 'setting up'.
They will also fit clocks to walls; Alistair even changed the battery in my car alarm key for a very reasonable fee.
