Tabitha's up the pole.

The Farr and Mattock families yearly visit to Swanage for Lottie's 6th Birthday.
The new chip shop, nice decor.
Tabby and her sand fish.
David photographs the girls, every one a Rembrandt.

Not exactly Alton Towers.
But the girls enjoyed it.
Lottie being cheeky.
Tabitha.

In a bit of a hole.

The new glass front to Nicky and Andy's house needed new foundations, this in them in the hole.
And this is the view from the hole.
Then fill the hole with concrete.
The new girder to support the roof goes in.

Do you remember.

The days when visitors to Bath were welcome and you could drive your Rolls Royce or Ford Cortina through the bus gate without fear.
(A bit of trivia, this is my 1000th post on this blog, which has had over 66,000 visitors.)

Donation to a museum

Something from our house is being donated to a museum and its not Sam, in our loft cleaning we came across a plastic Digicomp from the 1960s (Wikipedia) they are quite rare and sometimes fetch up to a $100 on ebay.
I contacted Kevin Murrell - Museum Director of The National Museum of Computing  and found that they wanted it.
So its on the way to Bletchley Park to be housed in the same block as the Colossus one of the first program controlled electronic computers.

Polar Bears in Bristol

The polar bears at Bristol Zoo were a sad sight when I photographed them in August 1972, they were kept in  a large white painted pit, no substitute for snow.
It was probably the one feature of the zoo that has attracted more than its fair share of adverse publicity.
Bears have bred here, but the pit itself was just that; a pit. The last two polar bears at Bristol, Misha and Nina, were put down in January 1992.

Sam in a mirror 1970's

Sam in the 70's reflected in a mirror and flipped from a Gevacolor slide, No Auto focus, No Through the Lens Meter, No Auto Flash. No motor winder, No good, but a bit of history.
I still have it, and should have added a flash with a lead acid accumulator that you topped up with distilled water.

The front is coming down.

The lintels on Nicky and Andy's
new room start to fall.
The view should be fantastic when the whole of the front is replaced with glass doors.
