Stand still damn it!

This is one of Wendy's pictures of Sam photographing wild kangaroos, unfortunately he didn't get that close, see below.
Thanks to a clever little bit of software called Image Resize Guide which allows you to mark the important bits in a picture then chose a different format, then it re-format's the picture in seconds.

The Real King's Speech.

Emptying the loft we came across a collection of papers and magazines from 1952 covering the death of King George and the Coronation.
It was interesting to read the section on Lionel Louge and makes you wonder why it took so long to get around to making  the book and film.

Bath Dolphin Swimming Club

My Mothers sister Doris was a champion swimmer, a
Western Counties diving judge and President of the Bath Dolphins swimming club.
She was the first woman to swim from weir to weir in 1913
And the family were not happy when she appeared in the paper in her swimming costume,
And this letter from the R.S.P.C.A. in 1936 shows her courage when she rescued a dog from a lock..

Wellington Bomber

Once a year David goes off to Tir-Y-Cwm in Wales for a walking weekend with his friends.
This year they walked to the wreckage of a Wellington Bomber that crashed on the 20th of November in 1944.
It’s now a war memorial to the crew of 6 who died in the crash.

A Hercules swoops low over a field of sunflowers.

With the final four Hercules leaving RAF Lyneham today it seemed appropriate to dig out this pictures from 2006.
