Six month old Baby Gorilla Afia at Bristol Zoo.

What better way to celebrate my 72nd birthday than a trip to Bristol Zoo with my Grandchildren.
I was very fortunate to see Afia born by caesarean section in February She is now being hand-reared round the clock by a small team of experienced gorilla keepers at the Zoo, although she is not currently on show to the public.
She is taken to Gorilla Island to get used to the sights and smells and I just happened to be there for her short outing.
