Twerton storm tanks, a little known corner of
Bath, they were next to the pumping station that sends all the Bath sewage to Saltford.
In times of heavy rain the old pipe to Saltford couldn't
cope with pumping, so the sewage and
drain water was stored in open tanks next to the Chronicle office at Windsor Bridge.
If you had a heavy storm followed by a hot sunny day it was
very smelly.
The tanks have now been demolished following improvement in
the pipes to Saltford.
