Goodbye to Twerton storm tanks

Twerton storm tanks, a little known corner of Bath, they were next to the pumping station that sends all the Bath sewage to Saltford.
In times of heavy rain the old pipe to Saltford couldn't cope with pumping,  so the sewage and drain water was stored in open tanks next to the Chronicle office at Windsor Bridge.
If you had a heavy storm followed by a hot sunny day it was very smelly.
The tanks have now been demolished following improvement in the pipes to Saltford.

Beaujolais, Bath closing

Sorry to hear that another Bath landmark is closing, I never actually manged to eat at the Beaujolais but Jean Pierre Auge was a great photographic subject.
In this picture he had just been presented with a medal for his prowess at Boules, its actually for a Fanny (score of zero)

Our New Years Resolution

To get back to Bensons award winning restaurant in Stratford on Avon.
So that Wendy can have another of their excellent gluten free cream teas.
And their gluten free breakfasts are good too.
