Portsmouth Victorian Festival of Christmas

At the end of  November we experienced a true Dickensian Christmas as we celebrated the birth of Charles Dickens in Portsmouth 200 years ago with some of his most colourful characters giving lively sketches and readings of his works.
A host of traditional and deliciously saucy characters provided fun and entertainment at every turn with Festival favourites including Fagin’s Tavern with its unique blend of Music Hall style entertainment, Reindeer, Hampshire Fare and The Boutique Market.
Its only a three day market and its £16 a head to enter but it was without a doubt the best Christmas market that we have ever seen.

Here are a few of our pictures.
