This is quite an interesting and rare picture, I've been tracking down photos of this site for a long time and this is about the best one I've found so far. It shows the Blackpool rotary dryer in an operational state, and you can clearly see the numerous steam exhaust stacks. I would say this photo was probably taken around 1970. I do not know if this is true, but I've been told that there were once two, or possibly more, rotary dryers in that building. The Blackpool Dryers Complex was quite a large and modern facility in it's day, and not a lot is documented about it, which seems odd seeing how so many people worked there. There were serveral dryers, mills, and other processing units on the site, including the two huge sets of silos. I'd reckon that there was as much machinery there as there was at Drinnick and Par. It was quite a significant site but you don't see many photos, so thankyou very much for posting!
