Old Style Postman without shorts

Here's a picture to upset the politically correct among you, This is our postman in the 70's TAFFY (Taffy, a colloquial, sometimes pejorative term for a resident of the valley of the River Taff in Wales)
We never did find out his real name but he was the happiest man you could find despite losing the top of one of his fingers putting a letter through the letterbox and pulling it out quickly when a dog jumped up (NOT OURS).
I'm happy that our post people at Combe Hay are of a similar disposition and have all their fingers thanks to no win no fee.

The last Sparrow Brother

'The funeral cortege of Bath businessman and last-surviving Sparrow brother, Gordon Sparrow, makes its way to Haycombe Cemetery, Bath, with a mobile crane escort to celebrate the life of one of the founding fathers of the global lifting industry.'

The Queen's Birthday tea as seen by Ebenezer Scrooge

Combe Hay had a Birthday Tea for the Queen on
Sunday it was dreadful didn't rain all day so
we had nothing to moan about.
The guest of honour was an orphan lamb that everybody hated.

The food was worse only three sorts of fish and they were all the same.

There were hardly enough strawberries for the children.

And you had to queue for the free food.

And only Pim's with locally grown mint to drink.

Only two tables of Raffle prizes.

The only rides were on an a tatty old Tractor.
Only just enough cakes to go around.
