Fellow photographer Lloyd Ellington tries to get the girl in the glass bikini to come out to play!

Human Cannonball

David Smith Jnr is the must see act at the Royal Bath and West show this year.
He gets fired by his wife Audrey at 60mph to a height of 75 feet across the arena landing in what looks like a small net.

Christian Moullec

I went to the Royal Bath West Show Press day today.
When I went to photograph Christian Moullec
and his grey cranes.

They didn’t seem very impressed with me!

Christian Moullec

The Royal Bath and West show starts on Wednesday and I’m looking forward to the return of French ornithologist Christian Moullec.
This is Christian flying low over the arena last year followed by a flock of geese that believe he’s their Dad.
I think he’s bringing his Grey Cranes this year.

Breakfast on the train

Remember those days in the 1970s when you could get a fresh cooked breakfast with toast and marmalade on the train to London.
And train ticket cost less than the microwave breakfast does today, and they still had Gollywogs on the Robertson marmalade.

What is Art

Spotted on the stair at Bath Spa University Sion Hill Campus, not exactly half a sheep, but I can never tell what’s art!

Certainly not my photography!

Southgate Bath

One last look at Southgate 30 years ago before they built the new Southgate Centre. The only remaining landmark you can see is Churchill house at the bottom of the street and that’s almost gone now, as they have almost finished knocking that down as well.

Victor Ambrus Time Team

The incredible Victor Ambrus, resident artist on Time Team.
He was kind enough to give me a signed copy of this drawing, but I didn’t put it on eBay as some have in the past.

Rovers at Twerton Park

In early 1990 Bristol Rovers played at Twerton Park, here the players guard the family jewels while waiting for a penalty kick.

Tower of London

This is my old slide of the White Tower at the Tower of London, taken about 1970.
But it’s not as old as the axe in the case with the execution block, that’s been there since 1687.

Mum and Dad away with Hels, David and the girls so I'm trawling the pics on my computer to see what hasn't already been posted. Here's me and a dinosaur in the late 70's. I look thoroughly ungrateful for the fantastic learning opportunities my parents provided!

Lottie and Tabitha work out how best to share Andy for a story - luckily he's big enough for both of them!

icandy

With the latest giant out of town stores selling everything badly, it’s good to see small specialist retailers opening.
This icandy shop in Castle Arcade Cardiff specialises in all mp3, small and electronic gadgets.

Toad

Click Picture to enlarge

I always carry a small digital camera, and most of the recent pictures on this site were taken with a Fuji E900.
When I was in our cellar yesterday I spotted a small toad, using just this little £139.99 camera I snapped this picture.
The results are well up to what I would expect from £3000 worth of DSLR.

Cardiff Market

Wendy in Cardiff Market, it’s been there since the 1700s.
Though it’s only been in this building since 1835.

You can tell we're rank amateurs by the fact the quality drops immediately dad has gone away!
This photo (though technically rubbish) deserves to be included as Nutella fans around the world will be thrilled to see that it is now available in 5kg pots. We saw them in the window of a pancake place in Rome and couldn't walk past without taking a photo.

Happy Birthday Mum!
Here are some pics of Mum's birthday tea on Sunday, with Nicky exercising some quality control on the cake.

Almost 60

It’s Wendy 60th Birthday on Tuesday, Pension, Bus Pass, Free Prescriptions.
So we thought we would have a few days in Cardiff, Nick and Andy are at home and will deal with the daily updates to the Blog.

Dame Helen Mirren turns down the Queen, but had tea with Sam.

The Mail on Sunday reports that Dame Helen Mirren has astonished the Queen and her closest advisers by turning down a personal invitation to dinner at Buckingham Palace.

Well I was lucky enough to have tea with Miss Mirren in her dressing room at the Bath Theatre Royal some time ago.

It’s one of the perks of being a press photographer!

The big fight

Well it’s local election night, so I thought a battle
would be the right picture.

This boxing picture was taken at the
Percy Centre about 20 years ago.

This is Bath for all the local results as they happen tonight.

Rufus Sewell

I Photographed Rufus Sewell when he was at the Bath Theatre Royal, and was surrounded by the female staff members wanting to see the pictures when I returned.
I don’t think that anybody I have photographed has caused the same reaction from colleagues.
