Soon after we married in the early 70s we were living in the flat over our shop in Abbey Churchyard.
We
had a public services strike and everybody had to drive the family
rubbish up Wellsway, where we chucked the rubbish over the wall on to
land that now houses Entry Hill golf course
It must have been difficult for people without cars, imagine taking you rubbish on the bus.
This is me with out little red mini disposing of the family rubbish, didn't need to register with the council computer then, because they only had one and that was writing rent rebate letters and ran on punch tape.
