Halloween

We always kept sweets by the door for Halloween but slowly the village kids stopped ringing the bell, probably because they were into cars and girlfriends.
Though we live deep in the country we were surprised when this gang of ugly monsters turned up tonight and stole our sweets.

Speeding in Bath

This speed camera vehicle was parked on Wellsway for an hour today, isn't the idea to prevent accidents by being visible?
As you may be aware, all speed cameras must now be clearly marked and visible from a certain distance; the only sign visible to traffic leaving the town was covered by the driver’s headrest of the car parked in front.
As a pensioner I’m never in a hurry so don’t speed but the placing of this van at the bottom of a hill where many drivers of less powerful cars will increase speed slightly to get them up the hill must be like shooting fish in a barrel.

Where's Mike!

After smashing a car door into my face a couple of weeks ago, the bruising and cut lip have healed quiet well.
But today my large bridge crown dropped out, it appears that I cracked one of the teeth the bridge is attached to, time to visit the best dentist in Bath Mike Wortelhock at 16a Upper Oldfield Park.

Nicolas Cage in Bath

Nicolas Cage came to the Royal United Hospital today to support the Space to Grow campaign, which is raising money for a new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
He must be one of the nicest stars I have photographed, happily spending several hours cuddling babies, chatting to staff and visitors and signing autographs.

First Picture of Traction Man

We visited friends in Windsor over the weekend and dined at Antony Worral Thompson’s Windsor Grill.
I can honestly say this was the finest steak meal I have had in the last 65 year and the party felt the atmosphere and service was second to none.
We thought that we should share the fine quality food with Traction Man, but as he is in hospital nearly two hours away the choice was limited, but they happily packed one of the starters, Mr Machin’s Scottish Smoked Salmon and Sticky Toffee pudding in our plastic boxes, and even gave us discount.
Waitress Kasia with the food.

Poole chain ferry at night,

Bramble Bush Bay ferry is 242 feet overall and has a beam of about 53 feet 6.
As you might expect, over the 70 years or so since the company began operations the car-carrying capacity of the ferry in service has increased by 220%, rising from 15 in 1926 to the 48 of today.
Annually the ferry carried something in the order of 650,000 vehicles
