Winter Sun

Biscuit has started a thick winter coat already,
so likes the shade.
While the other horses enjoy a little late winter sun.

Turkey Tail

Busker spotted in Bath last week, I thought the back was more interesting than the front.
Though this must have frightened turkeys for miles around!

Bath Chronicle

The new weekly Bath Chronicle was launched today.
With over 250 pages it dwarfed my newsagent this morning.
This is Jill Turner from Adams Apple, at this stage she hadn’t put the property supplements in.

Strange Erection

This strange looking erection is in the Bath Argos car park.
It’s been built by the developers to show the scale and finishing of the proposed Western

Bath Chronicle goes weekly

Last Friday was the end of an era as the Bath Chronicle prepared to go weekly,
I was one of the fifteen staff to go.
It’s a strange feeling volunteering to leave a job after 20 years, but I think I made the right decision as I have seen the best years of the Chronicle as a daily.
And I hope the new 250-page weekly will be a great success, but I would have missed the immediacy that a daily paper brings.

Editor Sam Holliday presents me with my traditional front page, slightly different from the usual one as I shared it with 14 other staff members.

Two of my fellow escapees, reporters Laura Matless and Polly March say goodbye, I think they just wanted the fame of getting on the Farr Family Blog Really.

Cream Teas in the Church

Combe Hay PPC had cream teas in the Church today to raise money for the Church development fund.
Fran 12 and Esther 11 collected the money and made over £130 despite not having NVQs in customer care!

Lottie is Two

With our granddaughter Lottie looking this good at two,
I think she’s going to grow up a
Glamorous girl!
Picture by her Dad David Mattock

Tabitha "Snaps" at last!

Four-year-old Tabitha trying her hand at photography!
Looks like she needs a few more lessons.

Stupid Dog

Back on-line at last, in our house we have two dogs, Storm sitting left is a bit slow old and careful (like Wendy).
The other is Paddy immature, impulsive and stupid (like Sam).
Today’s picture shows Paddy throwing himself into a brick wall as he tries to catch a wasp in his mouth!

Wendy looking better

Wendy taken this week after we washed her hair for the send time in two weeks. Because of her detached retina she can’t bend over or get her eye wet.
So I’ve have been washing her hair with her sitting upright on a plastic garden chair under the shower with her eyes covered.
Her sight is getting better every day.

End of Summer Sun

The roads around our village seem full
of giant combine harvesters,
as the farmers make the most of
the last of summer sun.

Bath Theatre Royal

The Madox Family ran Bath Theatre Royal
for many years.
It looks like they ran it with a rod of iron!

Wasps

I suppose it’s caused by the strange summer, but I don’t think I’ve seen a wasp yet.
This one popped in for a munch on my jam sandwich a few years ago.

Sam on the Simpsons

Have you ever wondered what Sam would look like as a character on The Simpsons?
Never?
Not even once?
D'oh! Well, anyway, Sam would look like this:

Union Jack Balloon

Hot-air balloons are a common sight around Bath, but tonight is the first time I’ve seen this patriotic union jack.
But I don’t think it’s the one that James Bond used in Octopussy
